Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessment incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the NETS•S. Teachers:
| a. | design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity. |
| b. | develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress. |
| c. | customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources. |
| d. | provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching. |
PhotoStory
Puzzle
Assistive Technology
The second standard is mostly about designing your teaching style around the students' learning styles in order to give the students the best opportunity to learn. This standard states that teachers should use technology to help diversify their teaching. The artifacts I think demonstrate my achievement of this standard are PhotStory, the puzzle, and the assistive technology assignments.
The PhotoStory video is a great way to diversify one's instruction. It's a break form the usual lecturing style of teaching that teachers use the majority of the time. It would allow students who learn by seeing and students who learn by listening to better grasp the concept being taught. Also, by uploading the video to youtube, students are able to access the video outside of class if need be.
The puzzle assignment is another good break from lecturing. It is a fun and educational activity that students would enjoy.
The assistive technology assignment taught me many ways to customize learning activities in order to address students' special needs. With this skill set, I will be able to adapt almost any technology assignment or activity so that any student can successfully complete it.
